I have never gone to one of the big contests. Sounds like a good time.

I like the 20000 bucks for 1st prize. wouldn't mind winning one of the icecastles to.

Is it hard to catch a fish with all the people? Can my 10 yo son fish the contest.

Boomdog...it's a great event, and I'd say the kids have more fun than the adults. They've got a ton of giveaways, and every kid who registers even the smallest of fish won't go away empty handed. My kids did it when they were 10 and 11 and they had a blast. It's only a few hours long, too, so that's not an issue... Give it a shot !

Added a couple of sponsors to Fishapalooza that I wanted to mention.

Kline Motorsports in Maplewood is on board and I would like to thank them for helping us with the Polaris Sportsman 500's prizes.

Philips Distilling will once again be a sponsor. They will have a booth at the event and will be distributing little bottles of Ice Hole Schnapps and UV Vodka again. grin

I purchased online yesterday. Will the tickets be mailed to the house? Or do we just go to the check-in tent?

Also, never fished an ice tourney before. Do people actually get on the ice at 8 and sit on their hole of choice? We're coming for the fun of it, but it would be good to know anyway.

Your tickets will be mailed out next week to the address you entered on the HSOforum.

At the last contest, people were showing up at 5am before we had all the holes drilled. We ask that you wait until 7 or 8am before venturing into the contest area to pick your holes.

Have fun!

Thanks!

Went out and checked the ice this morning.

I measured anywhere from 14 to 17 inches of good clear ice that was topped with white ice ranging from 1 to 3 inches thick. grin

So to answer your question rushlakeboy.... The ice is looking great!

Hope to see you there!

Thanks,

Dan
