Great Black backed Gull ( immature )

There is a wide variety of gulls that are hanging around the superior entry of WI Pt. and MN Pt. This morning I went there and was surprised to see this gull on my side of the break wall ( WI side ) and I sneaked as best I could to capture a photo before it left, which it did to the MN side. This gull is a hatch year bird and these gulls are larger than our Herring Gulls we have on Lake Superior. Every fall/winter season a few of these gulls will stagger over into western end of Lake Superior and make daily visits to the WI landfill. The normal range is the east coast along the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy.
