ARROW 1
The boat ran fine two weeks ago. Then yesterday I wouldn't start. I tried using starting fluid in carb still nothing I checked the plugs and the bottom plug was wet. I cleaned it up and it would fire a little but not start. I checked for spark and there was plenty. I kept cleaning plug and I keeps getting wet. Now there is allot of gas coming out exhaust. Any help on issue would be greatly appreciated. boatfixer
First of all don't use starting fluid anymore. It sounds now as though it is flooded. Remove the plugs and remove the lanyard on the safety switch (to prevent spark). spin the engine over several times to expell any raw gas that may be in the cylinder.Did you check the compression? ARROW 1
Compression was good. I will try your suggestions. If I keep getting a wet plug could it be something wrong with the carb Or electric chock? Thanks again.
boatfixer
Possible but its likely both cylinders would be affected. A hole in the fuel pump diaphram can cause the cylinder it gets its pulse from to be flooded.
ARROW 1
Thanks! I was just wondering if it was something other something I did because I have never flooded this motor before.
