Going with the gut

Hey guys,

I went with Slaton over Rice today (last minute decision), and Northcutt over Avery (also last minute). Last week I picked up Miles Austin at the last minute (wanted Massaquoi, but someone nabbed him just before me) and we know how that worked out! Hopefully this week's last minute calls turn out as successful! I'm curious to hear what you guys think early on here.

Fingers crossed! In first place in this league with Reggie Wayne, Miles Austin, Jason Witten, and Ronnie Brown on BYE. Hopefully I can sneak out a win!

Gotta say I'm confused with Ravens running plan. Pounding the middle with McGahee is not their best play. Screen passes to Rice to the left (with Jared Allen rushing in) should produce some opportunities. Slow down the pass rush, open the field for some completions to Todd Heap and then Rice can dance it to the outside on the right.

To be honest, with Rice on the bench and being a Vikes fan, I'm pretty pleased with the way it's working out!

Gotta like that! What I don't like is coach's man-crush on Chris Brown at the goal line. How many times does this guy have to fumble to convince them to go back to Slaton, who led the league in red-zone carries last year? Well, hopefully with the lead they've developed, they'll hit the ground game some more.
