Lab licking paws

The lab that I had while growing up also did this. Her licking was related to allergies, but they were environmental and seasonal. My veterinarian had me pay attention to her licking patterns, specifically when it would start, subside, and when it was the worst. During the allergy season I would give her an antihistamine on the days where she would be licking constantly.

My old springer spaniel also would lick her paws/legs. She would lick to the point where she would get sores. We determined that with her it was not allergy based. My spaniel has been completely blind since she was 2 years old and would get bored easily in the house. We used some of the Bitter Apple spray, and it worked for awhile. Eventually she just stopped.
