Lawn sweeper problems

Just picked up a used swisher 38" lawn sweeper. I'm having problems with the wheels locking up. I've ajusted the sweeper height so it just touches the grass and still the same problem. Its worse going around corners. Is this normal or did I buy a bad unit?

Could be that those parts that spin need a bit of grease on them. Make sure that all the weeds are out of the axels as well. Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

It may be that the gears that drive the brush's are worn out or need to be adjusted, try to turn the wheels and hold the sweeper to see how much resistance it takes to stop the sweeper from turning

Thanks for the idea, I'll try that and take a look in there! Just received a manual from Swisher, so hopefully its not a major task to remove them.

If it doesn't stop snowing it maybe next year before I can use it again!..................
