Thistles and the Dogs "Arm Pits"

Recommended Posts

My poor dog took a beating this weekend. He ran through some of the thistles and came out packed with them in his "arm pits". We pulled them out and then later in the day he got into another patch of them and we did not get them out for a bit. Now, his skin rubbed red from them. He has a vest but it does not cover this area. We put some vaseline on them last night to help with the licking. Anybody have some tricks here? He is a brit so his hair is a magnet for stuff like that.

We trim back the 'feathers' on the legs, ears, tail of our Spingers. Easier to trim them than always combing them out. Sometimes those jackets cause irritation too by rubbing. I've used old t-shirts in the past with good results for keeping those two-prong things off dogs. The sleeves protect the upper front legs and you can throw it in the trash.
