Lund Moonvisor Wiring Question

Recommended Posts

I have a Lund Moonvisor on my pickup and was installed before I purchased the pickup 2 years ago. The visor has 5 orange clearance lights on it and it has worked without a hitch until a few weeks ago. Now there are no lights on when I have my headlights on. I was looking at it the other night and looks pretty simple with two wires going to each bulb and then two move on to the next and so on all the way down the line. One of the wires runs down the door jam through the motor compartment and piggy tails off the headlight assembly and I don't know where the other one goes. The other should be a power source of some kind and a ground correct? If that's so, I would assume it is a ground issue? I would like to fix this as it drives me nuts if something doesn't work and its starting to irritate me. Hopefully this isn't a x-mas tree light thing where if one is out, they all are out kind of thing. Thanks for the help in advance!

if you can put a ground on the wire that does not go to the light bucket, you can check and see if that is the problem. if so find a new ground source and problem fixed. might be easier to if you can get enough wire to clip both of them and apply direct power from the batter and ground from the battery to see that the lightbar is still working. i think most of those lights use a small rivet to make the ground connection and will loosen up over time. They could be tied into a main ground on the bar and then feeding the rest of the lights from it. also check the connection at the light bucket to make sure it is working. A test light is the easiest way to check these issues. good luck
