WallyGator12000
Hey guys,I'm hoping someone on here has an idea for where my oil drain plug might be on this motor, I bought it this summer and I just can't seem to figure out where it is! I'm hoping to save $$ by not having to buy an old manual from mercury....Thanks for the help!
boatfixer
It will be in the exhaust housing. Can you give the serial number? I can post a picture of it if you can.
WallyGator12000
Thanks for the help! I feel more than a little stupid posting this, but I can't find the serial number anywhere! Mercury says it should be stamped on the transom bracket, but I cannot find it at all. Would a picture of the motor from me help?
boatfixer
There should be a sticker on the transom bracket, starboard side, or right side as you stand behind the boat looking at the motor. Or just post the picture as you suggested. Dont worry about asking questions here, thats what FM is all about! Sharing info.

boatfixer
Remove cover #38 and the drain screw will be right behind it.
