  1. That is exactly what we are going to do fivebucks. We are going to stay at Bud N Mary's and fish the backcountry of the Everglades for two days. We are going to hire a guide for both days so we don't have to bring any equipment with. Can't wait to get down there!
  2. Thanks mainbutter! Here are the answers to your questions: 1.This is a fishing only trip. I am taking two clients so I want all three of us to fish together out of the guide's boat. The company I work for will be paying for the trip so as long as the guide is in the $500 to $700 per day range I should be okay. 2. We will not be bringing any tackle. We will need to hire a guide that supplies the tackle. 3. We are planning on two full days of fishing. 4. We are open to any location. Just looking to show a customer a good time. I would say numbers of fish would be more important than size. If you have any other advice I would like to hear it. Thanks.
  3. We are wide open. Hopefully we can find a place within a few hours drive from one the major airports. We have not purchased any plane tickets yet so we are very flexible to where we go.
  4. I'm going to take a quick trip to Florida in February or early March to try some in shore fishing. Not sure if that is a good time to go but it is my only choice. I am clueless when it comes to fishing down there so I intend on hiring a guide. Can anybody steer me in the right direction as far as where to go or even better yet, any guides that they can recommend? We do not have a preference on what type of fish we want to catch just looking for some good action.
  5. Does anybody know of a good place to take kids sledding in the Lindstrom/Taylors Falls/St.Croix Falls area? I would think that there would be a park or a golf course that would have a good hill to slide on. There is a park in Chisago that is popular for sliding but it has a lot of stuff for the kids to run into.
  6. My prediction is if you watch this game, you're going to wish you went fishing instead. Vikes lose by a field goal.
  7. I have the same problem with the faucet in my master bedroom. The smell only occurs when using the cold water. The plumbing is only 6 years old.
  8. Shimano Cumara 7' Medium Power - Fast Action Shimano Curado 51 Baitcaster 10# Seagar InvizX Fluoro
  9. Large fish get pinned against the side of the boat and little ones get flipped into the boat. Bass will hold surprisingly still when you hold them under the belly. With cranks I remove the hooks with a pliers.
  10. I'm pretty confident I know what lake these guys are fishing. If you have read these posts long enough, you will see that they have spilled enough beans to figure it out.
  11. I believe either Paycheck Baits or Reaction Innovations make that product. Check at Tackle Warehouse.
  12. Anybody know how these are for towing a boat? I am also looking to possibly buy a used one. I've heard these vehicles are extremely reliable but I'm not sure how they would handle towing a 2500 pound boat.
  13. Smaller reels are not a good choice if fluorocarbon line is going to be used (which is my line of choice for drop shotting). If fluorocarbon is used, I would use a 2500 size spinning reel or even larger. It also helps to use a quality line like Seaguar Ivzx.

    N/S Center

According to Frankies, there are still plenty of bass to be had on North Center. I haven't been out there myself but will soon.

    dock fishing

I have been a homeowner on a lake for the past 30 years and have experienced the same. I put my dock and boat in a PUBLIC LAKE every year knowing very well that they are going to get hit many times over the course of the year and just accept that that's the way it is. I try to make a positive out of it by asking how the fishing is. Some fisherman will give you a lot more information than you asked for.
  16. The very first time I launched a brand new boat I put the drain plug in the hole for the live wells (insert joke here). After launching, I was busy learning how to use the new electronics and didn't look back to see the water in the back of the boat until it was about 6" deep. I never did that again but did manage to completely forget one other time.
  17. It will cast even better if you put on some higher quality line like Seagar Invizx.
  18. I don't believe it. I believe that Frankies said the lake levels have gone up 2 feet since last Fall but I doubt that they in fact have (at least on Chisago Lake). I will do a little digging for some real water elevations and get back.
  19. Can anyone verify that this is true? I wouldn't expect the lakes to rise that much with 4 inches of rain but hopefully I am wrong.
  20. If you don't mind wasting money, do it live4chrome's way. Otherwise, do it delcecchi's way. I do it delcecchi's way so that I don't end up having spools of new line with only 30 or 40 yards left on them.
  21. Any reports of winter kill on the other Lindstrom/Chisago area Lakes?

    Buying tackle?

I like Thorne Brothers as well but if your looking for more of the non mainstream type bass gear, Capra's is worth checking out. More than once Thorne Brothers didn't have what I wanted and Capra's had it. If Capra's doesn't have what I'm looking for, I buy from Tacklewarehouse. Gander hasn't figured out how to maintain their inventory so I seldom even bother going there.
  23. I would like to hear people's review of this reel. I have never tried one but I just bought one online and received it on Friday. It seems very noisy- not too impressed with it for the amount of money I paid for it but you can't really tell until you fish with it for awhile.
  24. All of the above is great advise. I probably use a lipless crank bait more than all other types of crank baits combined. If I could only fish with three baits, one of them would definitely be a lipless crank bait.
