Andy Loos1432404924
You should of gotten a usb cord when you purchased your camcorder. Windows Movie Maker will allow you to edit and download the video. You could also get better programs to edit video like Pinnicle or Sony Vegas, but Movie Maker will get you started. Good luck! kwiggy
Here is the frustration... your camera comes with a USB cord, but that won't deliver the video to your computer. It will only deliver the still photos taken with that camera. Video needs to be transported over Firewire (IEEE394) cable. This cable does NOT come with you camera. In addition, most computers do not have a firewire port on it (although more are now adding it). I hope you have a firewire cable and port. If you do, then moviemaker is perfect for a beginner application for video editing. Once you have the correct hardware, the connections are REALLY simple and the software makes it easy to CAPTURE the video for editing. If you are a beginner, I recommend Moviemaker. simpzenith
A USB cord will be fine if the video files are stored in the internal memory of the camera such as a mpg or mp4 file. You just need to transfer the files as you would pic files. If the camera records to tape such as mini DV then a firewire cable will be needed to capture the video to the computer. If you don't have a firewire connection on your computer, you can add usually add one. On a laptop this is simply done by sliding the adapter into the pci card slot.
