splatteman
Anyone ever stay at Rainbow Point on Perrault Lake? How's the fishing? Nice place to stay? Is the food at the resturaunt down the road any good? Looking to head up there mid August, do the walleye still bit that time of year? Thanks. budiva
I stayed at Rainbow Point six or seven times while in high school and college. Bob and Gale the owners do a great job running the camp. I think Bob still calls my Dad once or twice a year and it has been a decade since we fished there. Very friendly people and they work hard to try and make everyone in camp have a good trip. Never been there in mid August. One year we fished mid July and caught nice walleyes on sunken islands mostly in the evenings. A depth finder, marker bouys, and probably a handheld GPS would be needed to fish them. Alot of the sunken islands where not marked on the provided maps. We also once fished over Labor Day weekend, but the lake had just turned over and fishing was tough until the last day of our trip. All our other trips where in early spring. It has been 13 years since I have been there so I can't help you out to much. We did have Bob line us up with a guide for the first two days we fished the first year and it was money well spent. He showed us alot of spots to fish. Not all of them had fish the first year, but on subsequent trips they really payed of.Good luck on your trip you picked a good camp and hopefully the fish will cooperate.
