lzika
I wanted to get to Thief Lake this weekend (Oct.31-Nov.1) but couldn't make it. I'm wondering if anybody hunted there and if there were lots of ducks? Thinking I may have missed out on some good hunting.
zero
lots of birds around, but we had a hard time getting them to decoy, I was on the lake fri. and sat. with a buddy. redheads, ringnecks, cans, mallards, and a few others made up most of the bag.we had to break ice both mornings it went out a few hundreds yards I guess. yesterday around noon or so the ice was all but gone expect from the shallows. if your going to mallard hunt in close it could be tough. if it warms up a little that should open back up.the last three years we haven't made it until the end. the second weekend of deer hunting is when we've been froze out, then we move to the river for the last week or so, then head south.hope this helps.
