rwwong
My wife and I are planing a trip around Lake Superior next week. It's not a fishing trip, but I'm sure I can convince her that we have to do some fishing while we are in Ontario. We'll be sticking pretty close to the lake and camping at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, Neys Provincial Park, and Lake Superior Provincial Park. I'm bringing my fly rods, a couple casting rods, and spinning gear. Anyone have any experience fishing southern ontario along Lake Superior? I'm game for fishing stream trout, or inland fishing for trout, northern or bass. TIA
kkahmann
Make sure you stop at Rossport--you can rent a kayak or canoe and catch lakers in the harbour. Just before Pays Plat on top of Cavers Mountain is Nishin lake--the old hiway runs alongside it--you can catch smallies right from shore. All the small creeks like Dublin will have brookies. Jackpine river is good also as well as Cypress and Gravel.Go exploring, this time of year any of the rivers and creeks should produce small brookies on a fly rod.
