Jeremy airjer W
Sealed beam or composite headlamps?Do you have a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter)?

Jeremy airjer W
Here's what I would do. Monitor the voltage on the yellow wire going into the DRL module (it should be in between the HVAC module and the glove box) There should be 12 volts (14 or so with the engine running) at all times with the headlights on. If at any point the voltage goes to zero with the high beams on (this should happen when the lights dim and the DRL indicator comes on) than I would check the same yellow wire as close to the headlamp switch as possible. If it still loses voltage I would be suspicious of the headlamp switch. Since the DRL module looks for a headlights on input through this yellow wire, any loss in voltage would make the DRL module think that the headlamps have been turned off. This wire is spliced near the headlamp main connector under the dash. Checking in both places would confirm whether or not the integrity of the splice is good or not.The DRL module monitors the voltage on the yellow wire before the dimmer switch so I don't think that would be a factor. It also wouldn't hurt to check the connections at the plug in for the headlight switch. If any look burnt, especially the one with the yellow wire than I would replace the switch and connector. That should get you started in the right direction.
