Power source for 12v lights in fishhouse

JIGGS

Question

I currently use a deep cycle trolling motor battery for powering the 12v lights in my permanent fishhouse. Are there other ideas out there? Always interested in finding out more efficient ideas.

You're going to need a battery for one of your sources, no matter what other choices you go with.

Any other power source could charge your battery as well as power some accessories. You'll want a battery in the middle of your power source, and accessory to act as a buffer and to hold a charge for when the other power source isn't there.

1) Honda gas Generator, produces 120v AC power, could power a converter to run 12 accessories and charge your battery.

2) Wind generator

3) solar panels (not recommended in the cold MN winter).

Those would probably be your main choices, unless you set up a bike generator in your shack. Good way to keep in shape on the ice...
