2002 Buick Ren - Changing Headlight Bulb

I have a 2002 Buick Rendezvous and need to change the low beam headlight on the drivers side. The headlight assembly is buried, so I need to release it and slide it forward to gain access. It looks like there is a white slide gate on one side and a wingnut holding the other side - when I release those, the headlight assembly gets loose, but I can't move it forward to access the headlight bulb. Anyone have any experience on this or a similiar Buick?

Pull the assembly forward. Sometimes you have to restle with them to get them to un-snap.

Page 6-36 of your owners manual has some tips,

1. Open the hood.

2. Push in on the headlamp panel and lift up the headlamp retaining clip partway, but do not remove.

3. Undo the wing stud on the upper, outboard side of the lamp assembly.

4. Unsnap the headlamp assembly by pulling it forward, away from the vehicle.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector by pulling back on the locking tab, located on the electrical connector, to separate the two connectors.

6. Turn the bulb socket one-quarter of a turn clockwise.

7. Pull the bulb assembly out from the lamp housing

Thanks...the manual information helped. Popping out the headlight assembly required a little more pressure than I thought, but once it was free, I had easy access to both headlamps. Learned a couple things: first, each headlight (passenger and driver) is individually fused on my buick, so check the fuses first. Secondly, the replaced headlight is significantly brighter than the unreplaced headlight that is original equipment. Its true what they say about headlamps losing power over time, but I'm waiting for warmer weather to change the other one!
