Battery for FL-18

Need to get a new battery for my FL-18 as the old one is dead. Question I have is can I upsize to a 9 amp or do I have to stay with the 7.2 amp? Looks to me that all I would have to do with the 9 amp is change the electrical fittings on the end of the wire to allow it to work. Thanks!

The larger amp hour battery will work great. Most 9ah batteries that I have seen have the same spade connector size and should work without changing the electrical connectors on the battery hookup wires. The vexilar brand 9ah batteries does have bigger (wider) spade connectors than most batteries I have seen though.

I had a vexilar battery, which does have the wider connector size. Brought it back to the store and had the wife pick up one in Mankato which has the connector as my last battery. Now to try it out today. Thanks.

You can use any size of 12V battery as long as you can make a connection to it and don't mix up + and -.

Gets to be kind of a PITA to haul around those 135AH gel batteries, but boy oh boy do they last.
