04 150 opti tach bounce

tach bounces when trolling had it in for some warranty work had them look at it they said they reprogramed it still bounces.

any ideas i just dont want to hike it 50 miles back to dealer.

I have the same problem with my 225 e-tech, except its not at trolling its at about 4800 rpms. The tack will sometimes just start bouncing up to 6000, 5500, 5700, and such, but the engine sounds the same and the speed doesn't vary at all?

mine will do it at higher rpm also just not as mutch. i know its nothing to worry about i was just looking for a solution. some of the yamahas you can blow air in to the water pick up to resolve the problem if i remember correctly.

I can't say that I've ever heard of this... maybe a bad ground or sender connection?

Have you verified that all the connections to the gauge are tight and clean?
