Patching Gore-Tex Clothes

Fat Rap guy

Question

I went to the Cabela's sidewalk sale this weekend and bought a pair of snowpants that have a 3/4 inch tear in them. They have a carbon lining and gore-tex. I don't care if they let any scent out, but I would like to make sure it's waterproof when I'm done. Anyone know where I could find waterproof fabric or how to keep the patch from leaking at the seams?

If the tear isn't in too critical an area (crotch, knee, etc) I would use a evenly spread blotch of sportsmans GOOP. The stuff's amazing at sealing up small holes and stopping a broken thread from unraveling. It will definitely be waterproof when you're done. I've also used it to re-cover the toes of my Rocky boots after the mfr coating wore off. Great stuff!
