square lake, where did they go?

fished square for rainbows the week it opened and did well deep. fished the following week and did well deep again. I tried it again the last couple days and did not do so hot. I got one deep and one really shallow (around ten feet of water). does anyone know where the trout go during this time of year. are they spooked now after all the pressure? Found it odd to get one deep and one very shallow. I figured they were deep during summer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i would try trolling something just under the surface, even over the deeper water... they could possibly be coming up for the may flies or other bugs.
