IFallsRon
I looked into collector plates for my motorcycle. I could get them anytime. They like for you to not drive the vehicle a lot, like only to shows and parades.

Shack
Nitro, It took my all most 3 months last summer to get my "hot rod" plates, which are basically the same thing as collector plates. Now, mind you I was over charged at first, received a check in the mail (out of the blue) from the state for the difference (never had that before), come to find I was short again and then went to the D.M.V. and paid a couple bucks more. I will also add I had a custom saying on the plates as well. Under regular circumstances, I have heard 4-6 weeks. Watch the temporary permit sticker, so the date does not run out. If it does, just back down to the D.M.V. and get a new one.Good luck..
