sakazulu
I have a 12 volt Minn Kota Power Drive Model 812 Turbo Pro-a with Auto Pilot and the cordless remote foot pedal. I would guess a mid to late 90's model. Charged the front battery, mounted in the bracket, plugged power and control cables in and nothing. Took the cordless apart and cleaned up the board contacts, checked board voltage and "on-off" reed switch, everything good there. Then checked the inline fuse on the power cord and it was blown. Fuse housing looked as if it had got a little hot and melted a little. Replaced the fuse and checked voltage at the the receptacle, 12.8 vdc. With everything off, plugged in and blew that fuse and one more.Did I toast the main control board? Did I do this by charging last fall w/ everything hooked up (I've heard this a NO NO)? I've read in the posts that you can deal direct w/Minn Kota for parts. I don't want to part w/the old dog if I could get a few ideas where to look before I "go in" by myself. Thanks FM'rs!
