portageman
1. It is better to be early than late. the first day we got into the field too late. They were already gobbling. They gobbled for about 10 minutes and that was it. 2. Know the distance. I wasted my shot on a Jake that was too far out of range.3. Be alert and patient. I was sure that the Jake was going to be my only chance. I didnt see the two Toms coming out of the woods straight across from me because I was focused on the Jake down and to my right. When I took my shot and missed the toms headed back into the woods. Dumb.Any other tips?
Borch
Remember where you saw most of your turkeys. Turkeys do use the same area to strut, roost and feed year after year in many cases.
