There will be no update today, since I've already put away the snowshovels and snowblowers for this year!!!!! mad.gif

BTW, how come there's no "what should I plant in the garden this weekend" threads lately?? \:D

Good luck to you guys north and west of me... sheesh.

LwnmwnMan2-

Since you brought it up, what should we do about this weekend? As I have been following the posted ground temps you have been sharing with us I decided today was the day to put down the fertilizer with crabrass preventer. I went out and bought three bags this week. Told all of my co-workers that this was the weekend to get out and get it done. Now, as I look out my window, there is snow on the ground!!! Will this reverse the warming trend of the ground? Should I put the fertiziler down as soon as the snow is off the lawn or give it a few days for daily temps to rise again?

Thanks for the information you have provided over the past weeks.

I would still put it down whenever your snow cover melts.

We'll be getting (hopefully) warm sometime soon here, at which point you might as well be ready.

If you really really wanted to wait, you could probably do it next weekend, as it's not supposed to be into the 60's again until next Thursday, with lows in the 30's.

Personally, we've got 2-3" of snow on the grass here, or did this morning, so it'll be probably Monday before I can get going again.

For giggles I went out and checked temps, and they were back down to 40 degrees, but I'm not sure if that's at the 3" mark, or if the top 1/2" or so was just real cold from the snow cover and throwing the thermometer off or not.
