IGL accesses in rough shape!

It will probably be 4 wheeler or foot traffic on the IGL from here on out. I was down on tues and wed and the access to Spirit Lake was in bad shape. A truck pulling a enclosed trailer got buried at the access.

I was just going to post this. I have heard of twin vehicles going atleast partially through in the last week. One on little millers last weekend and one on trickle slough yesterday. If you do choose to chance make sure you avoid these areas that traditionally have bad ice. The fishing is way too good this time of year to lose a vehicle just so you didn't have to walk a little ways to get to the fish.

How's the ice once you get out on the lake? Was thinking about trying Spirit Lake/Anglers Bay area. How's the access by Big Stony Point? Is it even worth driving down for a day?

The ice as of last sunday was still very good both at the landing and out further but with the warm temps I expect it to go fast. you should still beable to get on at the access but driving might be another issue. The fish are definitely biting but im not too sure you would want to walk all the way out to big stony. There are other good bites happening in the area that are much easier to get to depending on what you were looking to catch.

There were still people driving on anglers bay yesterday afternoon but there was a lot of water on the ice and it did rain down there late yesterday afternoon.

Was still several trucks driving on West when I came by at 7pm last night. today got to 48 or so other than snow melt its not hurting much ice, The DNR has posted a warning that points are getting soft so beware.

Access by Big Stoney Point was impassable on Wed afternoon with a truck.

Was out this afternoon (fri) and no truck traffic. Wheelers and foot travel only. Caught a few crappies and gills.

I wasnt out just driving by. Taking the daughter out someplace tomarrow, no idea where yet as I havent been out in a couple weeks.

I think I'm going to come down on Tuesday. Going to bring the atv with. Where would be the best spot to try for some panfish? I want to try Anglers Bay, if the ice and access is ok.

I brought my 4wheeler down today and didn't need it. The accesses froze up and were passable with a 4x4. Fish weren't biting like earlier in the week, maybe the colder temps. I fished anglers and millers bay.

Millers for us was the dead sea, only saw a few bass.
