hoggs222
Have any of you tried the "Topsy Turvy" method of growing tomatos & peppers? I am interested in the benefits of growing this way. I have dogs, rabbits are around, weeding, etc...I know you can make your own out of 5 gallon buckets. Have you done this before? What do you think? Ketch
I have one of the topsy turvey upside down planters. I actually think it works quite nicely. I grew tomatoes in it and had much better results than letting the animals eat everything. You need to be careful about leaving town, since they are in such small amounts of soil, you can't leave them long without watering.
timjones
Ketch is right about watering. I didn't have any but several neighbors had the tomato ones last year and with it being hot and dry last summer, most of them died.
hoggs222
Anyone try to make their own? I mean the topsy turvy one's with the fabric, instead of having a bunch of 5 gallon buckets hanging in the back yard?I was thinking of buying one, they're like $20! And having my mom try to sew some up, if she can find a similar material. What do you think?
Ketch
I don't know why it wouldn't work.
