Best idea for tip up rigging

besides a quick strike rig, what would you use for a tip up from the dacron on down to the hook and type? including bait?

It is free fishing weekend in michigan and I plan on taking a few people out to a no size limit pike lake, I am mostly a walleye fisherman myself. Thanks for the help...

  We're usually fully stocked but you caught me on a bad night! Tuesday night is usually "board meeting" night if you know what I mean. Stop in and have a tasty beverage some Tuesday night after these holidays are over and things get back to normal.
