Suckers in the winter

Just wondering if anyone had some advice on fishing in the winter for some of the suckers out there. We have been out a few times, sometimes it was good, sometimes not. Are there areas that one should be looking for, deep holes, riffles?

Trying to get more species for the contest, Andy? I saw those pics of you and Tyler and your suckers on Tyler's site, nice job! Me and my brother were at Silver Lake today, but all we had were gulp worms and waxies. We actually saw a big school of those suckers a ways up the river sitting in the middle, and I hit one on the nose with a waxie and it still refused to bite. I'm just gonna wait till a little warm front before I try more for them.
