Guest
I have been reading along with all of you for a while and decided to put in my two cents.Being out fishing(for fish)in southern Minnesota this past weekend, I saw many people fishing for their ice houses. The warm weather and windy conditions last week sent many peoples fish houses into the water. Has the winter been hard on ice areas of the country? NoodleSalad
The only problems I've had were getting the 4 wheeler across a split on Mille Lacs. Otherwise the Ice north of the cities has been pretty stable. I went out by the BWCA on Nov. 13th. The lakes near the cities were well open then. -NS-
Wables
We had some problems here last week on Little Bay de Noc in the UP. The warm weather and high winds gobbled up a half dozen or so shacks, and blew some unanchored ones across the lake. If I remember correctly, 5 wheelers went in the drink the same day the shanties went in. Even with the cold weather we have had since, I hit some open water caused by a brand new pressure ridge last night on my 4-wheeler. I am pretty sure that there was still ice under the water, but it gave the old ticker quite a shock!------------------Wables
