If you have the extra cash, definitely go with the dual beam. That's what I use on my own unit and it lets me cover any situation.

No matter which 'ducer you end up with, you won't be disappointed. As stated previously, it's a Vexilar. You're getting the best.....Congratulations!!!!

Genz pack fl-8 is great, wouldnt ice fish without it. Something to be said for simplicity.

crappieflop30, I have had several different flashers and know what I like. If you want to save some money and get the most universal transducer I would go with the 12 degree. If you want the best of both worlds I would opt for the 9/19. The reason I like this feature is you can use the 19 degree cone for searching then switch to the 9 to find out which fish is the most interested. Crappies really like to come at the bait in groups so working the closest fish can improve your hooking ratio.

Another reason for the dual beam is when fishing in shallow water. A lot of time the fish will be sitting in weeds and using the 9 degree cone will show you the fish better. There were times when I though I was in shallow water when actually it was fairly deep with a lot of weeds near the surface. The fish were in the weeds too.
