backlash 1
I'm planning ahead for winterization. 60 hp 4 stroke, 4 carbs, 2003 year. I cant figure out how to get the air box off for fogging, without an awful lot of disassembly Every air box i've ever had before just had maybe 4 screws, not this one. Help? norm
If you look on the intake manifold (between the carbs and cylinder head) there will be 4 small bolts, 1 for each cylinder. The holes that these bolts are plugging are used for synchronizing the carbs. All you have to do is remove the four bolts and spray fogging oil in each hole for about 5-10 seconds. Then, replace all 4 bolts and just start up the motor for a second and shut it off. Your motor will be fogged. I hope I explained that pretty good, let me know if you have any questions. Water Hazard
I have the 2006 model of your motor...Last year, I was told by the dealer to pull out each spark plug and spraying a quick shot of fog into each cylinder. That seemed to work out well for me. backlash 1
NormI looked at the motor, and found the 4 bolts. They appear to be 10mm, on the outside part of the manifolds, and did not appear to be serving any other purpose. Now, as it appears to me, if I fog in that area, no fogging material will get into the carbs. So do I have to drain the carbs, or just unhook the gas line and hope the fuel stabilizer does its job? Thanks.
norm
I would add stabil to the tank, run the motor for awhile to get the stabil into the fuel lines then fog the motor the way i descibed above and drain the carbs.
