inthecattails
Is it safe to water new grass seed when it's getting so cold out now. I know germination is 60 degrees. Is it pointless to water if it's not getting to that during the morning and evenings. I hate to lose all that seed I just put down last weekend. Shack
Water, water ,water. Get it growing as fast you can. This involes watering.

Shack
Not a stupid question at all. Good idea for one to ask, before he destroys what he is working on. Good luck!
Swill
I planted some grass around August 15th or so, and back then it was really hot. Anyways, the clerk at the store said to put the grass seed in the freezer for 24hrs. I will germinate a lot quicker. So I did, and then through down the grass seed and guess what? It worked. I bet I had grass starting in just 4 days. The last time I think it took 10...So my point is if you have grass seed down now when it is cold, that is a good thing! Also I agree, water, water, water....And use a good turf building / new grass fertilizer!
