DancesWithWaves
I went fishing for smallies a few days ago and couldnt help but notice this one shoreline that was stacked with carp. It seems as though they were just cruisin around wasting time. Is there a way to catch those puppies? they must be one heck of a battle. what should i use? smaller hooks with corn? LPCrowRiverFisherman
I don't fish the Mississippi, but I do fish a river which the carp to line the shores. I have had best luck with nightcrawlers, and a size 4-6 baitholder hook. To me they are tough to catch on the shoreline, but cast out a little more and let it rest on the bottom and you are bound to get a bite.
Flaco651
Corn and doughballs. Crawlers work good too, but you will catch everything else in the area also. Or you could give bowfishing a try.
MidCoast
Mississippi carps are pretty easy to catch. Just bottom fish using corn, bread, worms, etc.
