Little help for catching Northerns in Aug/Sep

Going on a fly in to Ontario on Aug 31st. I have been to this lake twice before. Where does a man find Northerns the first week of september. We catch a few in the bays but not much luck at all. Are the fish still deep at that time up there. Any help would be appreciated. Lure choice, depth

We used to go up on flyins to remote lakes and have had our best luck with spoons and bass size spinner baits. Depth ranging from 2 ft to 12 ft. Fish the reeds and the rocks as well. Pulled some 40 inch class fish off of big boulders.
