Has any body ever fished for channels on the Zumbro? if so how did u do and where did you catch them? help me please

I've caught channels in the lake and in the river. Last year Murphfisher and I got into some pretty decent ones. Chicken liver was our bait. Current seams along the edge of an eddie or a deeper pool.

This year I caught a couple on the river between the Falls and Hammond by just bottom fishing with crawlers. I casted out and waited for a bite. Mostly sheepies and suckers with the ocasionall bass and sauger mixed in.

The lake can put out some nice channels too. Try using cut sucker or cut mooneye. Fish the entrances of the bays. But stay in the channel areas.

I can second the advice from dan on the lake. I have fished the lake a couple of times this year for channels and have always caught some. I already have caught two that were right around nine pounds. My smallest was probably around five or so???
