I just started out fishin for cats up on the St.Louis river and the cloquet. Is there any basic info. that i should know. I dont need any secret baits or honey holes (but i woulnt turn em down wink.gif) just stuff to get me jump started. None of the bait shops that ive been to seem to know much about these fish. Any info. will be much appreciated

I fished out of floodwood many times and went to catfish days before most minnesotans even thought of trying it!There channels,I always used night crawlers, then after living downsouth moving back I tried suckers cut up worked great also live ones work I fished from shore so I was limited I'd just find a spot close to the road and fished never caught alot at once but I always caught some.If your near the Kettle river thats really great catin! If ya can find a eddy fish there even if its only 2ft. deep ues enough weight to keep it on bottom, lots a rock snags up there!
