Swimmers Tail???

I have never heard of this until a neighbor mentioned it...I have a yellow lab 9 months old who is just in love with the water. The temp is about 47 to 57 degree's. Any information on this topic would be helpful. Rocket

Also known as Limber Tail. If you do a search there is all kinds of information on it.

Basically the dogs tail goes limp and hangs down for a day or two after swimming in cold water. It does not effect the dog long term. It looks as though the tail is broke in the middle. You see it more often in the spring than in the fall.
