Lowrance X67C

Anyone else use this deal on there boat? Got mine up and running...only questions is: I haven't seen any fish arches on it? I know ive gone over some fish. Am I missing something in the settings menu? Thanks

I mounted the Ice Machine x67c on the boat last Summer and was able to get arches by mounting the transducer perfectly and using manual only on the unit. Sensitivity around 90%. I sure there are others on this site who have more specific transducer mounting advice.

You will only get perfect fish arches if the fish goes through the middle of the cone. This can happen if the fish is moving or most often when you are moving over the fish. Go to Lowrance's HSOforum and look under Support/Tips & Tutorials/Sonar Tutorial/Fish Arches. It will tell all you want to know.

ok..that helps. Just wondering if i installed it right? Does the x67 still show the bottom well while moving? My boat does about 40.

There are a few factors that go into that too. Transducer placement, interferance from other wires, the motor itself, or the prop rpm or wash. I'm no expert, but you want the transducer half way below the bottom of the hull paralell with the water surface. As far away from the prop as is practicle. Keep the wires away from other wires and play with your unit's settings. Mine starts to break up a little at about 30mph (but I don't bother changing settings), but I still get bottom read out. I'm sure you could search for other threads that have dealt with this issue ad nauseum. Enjoy the weekend.
