unacceptable service from Shimano

Question

On Feb. 2th I sent in my 9 month old Symetre reel along with a letter explaining how the drag did not work properly, the reel made a buzz noise when you reeled, and when you free spin it it stops almost right away! I told them it was a lemon and I wanted a new one! I got it back on April 3rd, that is way too long to wait, it doesn't spin much smoother, the spool is now very loose and wabbles, and the drag works worse! I did not get a new one! I would sent it back now, but need something for opener. I also own a stradic which I love, but this is terrible customer service! What should I do. I would like to get shimano credit twords another stradic, since my symetre is a p.o.s. and they won't replace it!

I had the same problem but with diawa. Try going through the e-mail department. I ended up getting better service (still wasnt good) that way. Just Explain the problem and keep pounding them with emails until they do something. Mine was an easy fix but difficult part to locate. They finally sent me the piece free of charge. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, Know what I mean? Good luck
