Lida or South Lida

AmDo, You just jogged a fond memory loose for me so I had to post to thank you. It's been quite a few years since I last ice fished at Lida. Really hit a honey hole there last time I went. Buddy of mine and I both limited on crappies and sunnies. Big, bull sunnies and many crappies at or near 2 pounds! If I remember right, we were somewhere on the eastern side of the lake. All I can remember is that there was a red barn on kind of a high bank just to the west of us. Can't remember for sure what depth we fished. I threw a coat over my head and looked down in the hole I was fishing in. Saw lots of big crappies and gills. If you like to fish for whitefish, go over just off Kansas Point in about 30 feet of water. Use your smallest sunfish jig and put a waxworm on it. Also use the smallest bobber you have. You have to watch it closely. At the sign of the slightest movement, set the hook! Whitefish are notorious light biters. The old timers out there told me to fish 3 arm lengths and a foot deep. I did and it works. Got many nice whitefish, some as big as 4 to 5 pounds. The locals still insisted they were tullibees! There used to be a bait shop on the south shore that was run by kind of a character. My buddy always referred to it as "Fishead's Canoe Joint!" Never failed to crack me up! laugh.gif Good luck! grin.gif 1DIRTBALL wink.gif
