Grocery store fish?

I'm not able to get any wild fish to use for bait so my only option if I decide to use fish would be fresh herring or smelt from the grocery store?

They are both oily and I think might be able to tempt large channel cats.

What is your opinion?

  I went ahead and watched some of the MLF coverage. Wheeler didn’t make the cut but the bigger story was the Poche/Avera fallout. Kinda funny listening to both sides of the story and putting together the scenario, reading between the lines.
