I AM NEW TO ICE FISHING AND EVERYONE I TALK TO TELLS ME I NEED A FLASHER. I DID READ ABOUT THE MANY DIFFRENT TYPES BUT DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A USED ONE AT A REASONABLE PRICE. I SEE MOST OF THEM ARE OVER 200+. I LIVE IN IL AND CAN ONLY FISH WHEN THERE IS ICE. MAYBE I WILL GET OUT 4 OR 5 TIMES THIS SEASON.

I was in the same boat, I live in MO and can't go in this state at all. You NEED to get a flasher at any cost, it will make your ice fishing far more productive than you could imagine. It was hard for me to swallow the $275 for my vexilar but worth it.

I would forget the rods, bait and beer before I forgot my flasher!!

Go to hsolist you may be able to get a used one there.

If I were only going ice fishing once or four times a year, I would rent the flasher. You'll ussually get the latest and greatest, and also have the chance to try out different brands, and find something you like. The rent is between $10 and $25.
