I bought an M68c last year... Tossed the arm as well and shaped some cellular packing foam I had at the office into a Vexilar type bobber. Works fine. The unit itself is awesome. I also abandoned flasher mode in favor of the typical graph... works great as with a bit of history on the screen, you can catch "blips" that you may have missed when looking away for a second.

For those that like flexibility and can navigate their way through the menus to set up the unit the way they like, it's perfect. A vexilar would be more appropriate for those that aren't as tech-savy and rather not spend the time "learning" the unit and its settings.
