Running lights Don't Work!

Aholzerland311

Question

Hi,

I was hoping for some advise. It sounds like this is the place to go. I have a 2006 Shorelander trailer. Saturday night my running lights wouldn't go on. The brake lights and signals worked fine. I hooked the harness up to another veichicle and the same thing happened. I can't believe that all the bulbs would have burn't out. I unhook the lights and let them cool before backing the boat in. Any idea's????

You need to start by checking the brown wire on the trailer side for power. It doesn't matter where you start. I would start near the plug and work my way to the back. Eventually you will find the spot where the circuit is open. More than likely a broken wire or a wire that has severely correded somewhere.

It shouldn't take you long at all to find. Good Luck!!

Check your ground and power as suggested. You may also want to check the fuses in the box under the hood. I had that problem and it ended up being the fuse, which I didn't even know was there.

If brake lights work you have ground, I would start with fuses first then as mentioned the brown wire from truck connector to end of trailer. Do you have LED lights or standard lightbulb ?
