gundy89
Going camping/fishing this weekend with the girlfriend. Hopefully, we can catch a couple trout for a meal and was wondering if anyone had a couple good ideas for cooking them over a fire? I have done them on the grill and they are awesome, but never over a fire. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
so haaad
Wrap them individually in tinfoil, add butter, fresh lemon slices, salt and pepper or Lowry's. I prefer to add the Lowry's. If it's a bigger trout like a steelhead, you can take the top layer of tinfoil off. It dries out the top side, similar to broiling. Most people prefer cooking over coals instead of over a big flame. You really can't go wrong with fresh trout on the grill. Improvise a little and see what happens.Haaad[This message has been edited by so haaad (edited 07-21-2004).]

shortfatguy
if you fillet the fish and remove the skin it will taste alot better. i also like to put a slice or 2 of bacon under the fish on the foil. it keeps the fish from sticking and gives an awesome flavor. if you do this dont flip the package. hope you get some trout to try this out on!!------------------a bad day at the lake is better than a good day at work
