redhooks
Hey BossHogg- I have been soaking/cleaning and then frying my extras in butter just like I do for eating-I then pour shrooms and butter sauce into pint size ziplocks (appx 1/2 lb) and squeeze out the air and then freeze-We still have a couple extra bags from last year and they still taste great. This year I also tried soaking/cleaning them and then place in tupperware on wax paper so they don't touch and freeze-after they are frozen I put them all in a ziplock and can pull out as many as needed. I haven't thawed these out to try yet but I'm sure they'll work, I've also heard of people doing the same thing but dredging them in flour first and then freezing. I'm sure there are some websites w/ more info on storing if you need. We just finished a big ol'omlette w/ 1/2 pound of shrooms in it and are now going out to get some more to get us through the winter. Life is gooood!redhooks[This message has been edited by redhooks (edited 05-23-2004).]
Boss Hogg
I have a lot of extra Morel Mushrooms. Is it possible to just put them in a ziplock freezer bag and freeze them? If so, when I thaw them and use them, will they be just mush?
