drtydog
My girls have asked me to take them Catfishing, live in the Northern Anoka area, any ideas of a good spot to shore fish for them and what would be the ticket for bait?
Katman
In downtown Anoka, Rum River Dam. Right in the pool under the dam. The action hasn't been great due to low water levels, but with this rain....things should go well. Minnows, liver, almost anything will work here. I've pulled a few rather large carps here on liver as well! The bullheads are abundant here! You'll find everything from eyes to smallmouths. Good luck and happy fishing. AQUAJOE
Are the cats mostly channel or can you get some flatheads at the dam?

Guest
These guys can give you better info on the northern suburbs on the channel cats if that is whee you are focusing your attention. There are tons of good places in and around town to catch channel cats by shore or boat. They dont get as big as flatheads, but its usually much better action. Send me an email if you want some more info on sme places close to home.fisherdave *at* mn'rr'com
