Guest
150 quart cooler is huge.. less often to have to change the water with that few of bullheads.Keep the water as cool as possible and that will slow down their metabolism and they will stay fiesty longer. The majority of bullheads will stay alive at 95 degree water temps if you have enough air for them... but their metabolism speeds up so they will require food more often.. or in other words, get weak or die off faster. When I change my water in my bait cooler, drain as much water as possible and run the faucet as cold as it gets and treat the water a little extra heavy and they do fine. I will check the water daily and stick a frozen 1 or 2 liter bottle of water(make sure they are only 3/4 full when you put them in freezer) in there to cool it off if needed... I run a recirculating pump which slowly warms up the water. You wont have cool it as often with a standard bubble pump because it doesnt produce heat to my knowledge.
