Inflatable Boats

mskyfshntchr

Question

Hi.

I am looking to fish some smaller ponds around my area that are not accessible by a bigger boat.

I am looking at the inflatable boats, like the ones by Fish Hunter or Sevylor. Something that is fishable for 2 people and will hold up.

I am wondering if anyone has either of these boats or anything similar and would be willing to let me know pros and cons of them. Are they better than a canoe?

Thanks,

Nate

I have one of the 8' sevylor boats and it's excellent for small lakes. Cons are blowing it up (Get an electric air pump), movement (Trolling motors help a tone with this) and holes. They are safe boats with multiple air zones so if you do get a small hole you're not going down.

Pro's are light, portable and quiet. I carried mine in my trunk for a year.

If you are wanting to fit 2 people in there you need to get the one that is 12' though and get the wood floor for the bottom and the nylon outer cover. By the time you do that, add a trolling motor air pump and batt you have just spent what you have on a 14' boat, trailer and trolling motor though frown.gif
